5 Creative Energy Generators

Creativity is the top ingredient in the article writing recipe. Are you feeling blocked rather than creative? Just putting words to paper does not equal writing an article. Capturing the reader's interest initially and then to get them to continue reading is your main goal.
For your message to get read you have to pique the interest of the reader by first getting their attention. But your creativity is long gone so how to get it back without pulling out your hair in frustration?
Is your mind still blank? There is no simple trick that will always work to break the log jam lose. No one can generate your creativity for you, but they can provide aids that may help. Here are five easy tips to consider.
1) Creativity often increases after a get-away or a crazy adventure. Adrenaline is produced when you are having fun and that can allow creativity to come forward. Go for a hike to a sacred place or go on an adventure. Maybe getting out of the rut that a schedule can create will feed your mind with a new burst of creativity. Remember our minds seek new ideas and experiences to explore.
Words and images are the media of your writing art. Use crisp, clear depictions to knead your article ingredients together. Elements like simile and metaphor can add flavor to your article recipe, but they don't come without creativity being present.
2) A dedicated space to writing will help generate creativity. Clutter and confusion are not conducive to the flow of creativity.
Bring to your working place objects that make you happy and relaxed. Beautiful art, scented candles, fresh flowers kept in your writing space can spark creativity. One way to reduce distractions is keep the space clean and organized. Losing track of time as you write is a good indication that creativity is flowing and the space is working for you.
3) Write in a journal or diary regularly. Jot down ideas that come from something you smell, see or hear. Let your idea-generator be fed by what you see, hear and smell. Use your journal to capture those ideas for future use. Idea development can be triggered from other peoples' ideas. Remember creative ideas can come from a myriad of sources; your unique spin is what is needed.
4) Relax and take time to sort things out. Mind clutter crowds out creativity, so clear your mind. Move the obstacles out of the way; both physical and mental. Staying focused is not possible if you are bothered by something else.
Being relaxed allows you to focus on the experience that your idea is generating. Mental confusion, constant mind chatter, and focusing on your block only cause the block to get stronger and keep your creativity at bay. Allow your experiences to feed your mind. Keep your mindset free and positive and then let your mind play with those experiences to form your unique opinions that can be reflected in your writings.
5) Finding out what makes ticks your emotional triggers could help you find ways to get your creative juices flowing. There are many ways to set the mood. Some writers use wine or alcohol to stir up their creativity. (Use caution that this doesn't become a dependency.) Some like soft mood music while others let the lighting of the environment create the mood. Keep the pace and tempo consistent with your flowing creativity.
Discover what inspires you and what annoys you. Use these emotions to help you in expressing yourself and your ideas, with this you can grow creatively. Let the mood of your internal space lead to new recipes for writing those new articles.

Powerful Creative Energy - Our Thoughts Manifest Our Lives

Have you ever heard the statement, "Thoughts are things?" Many people say these words without consciously realizing just what the meaning of the statement really is.
Our thoughts ARE energy and they are as real as the vibration of light, heat, magnetism, sound and electricity. When we think, we send out vibrations of energy. These vibrations are not evident to our five physical senses but that does not mean that they do not exist.
Example: a magnet has the ability to send out vibrations to attract to itself a piece of steel. We can't see, taste, smell, hear or feel the mighty force but we know it works. Our thought vibrations, likewise, cannot be seen, tasted, smelled, heard nor felt by the majority of people. (Some healers, psychics and sensitive people can - but that's another article!)
Over a hundred years ago, in the medicine field, doctors and midwives didn't know that dirty hands spread disease. When they were first told that cleaning their hands was important, many scoffed in disbelief! They couldn't see the germs therefore they didn't believe that their unwashed hands had the power to do harm. Because we cannot see, smell, taste or touch our thought vibrations it is no proof that they do not exist. When we come to the realization that our thoughts are a creative energy, having a magnet-like power of attraction, we will begin to understand how our powerful creative energy, our thoughts, enables us to design our lives which ultimately leads to personal empowerment.
It's time to become responsible for the mighty thought law - The Law of Attraction. This law is very powerful and is always at work drawing to us the things we desire or fear, set into motion by the very thoughts that we think. It draws to us the positive and the negative. There is no exception to this rule. What you think, you will create in your life. This law is not new nor is it a secret. It has been in effect since the beginning of man and when we understand this law we will be able to use it in our daily lives to create positive life experiences, creating the life of our dreams.
We send out thoughts all the time, and we are reaping the results of such thoughts. Not only do our thought waves influence ourselves and others, but they have a drawing power - they attract/magnetize to us the thoughts of others, things, circumstances and people in accordance with the type of thought that is most in our minds.
Thoughts of love will attract to us the love of others; circumstances and surroundings in accordance with the love thought; people who are of like thought. Thoughts of anger, hate, envy, malice and jealously will draw to us similar thoughts emanating from the minds of others; circumstances and surroundings in accordance with these vile thoughts, we will receive them in turn from others; people who will manifest in harmony; and so on.
Like attracts like in the thought world - as ye sow so shall ye reap. Birds of a feather flock together in the thought world - curses like chickens come home to roost, and bringing their friends with them! This matter of thought attraction is a very serious one. When you stop to think of it you will see that we really make our own surroundings, although some of us tend to blame others for it. We attract to us the thoughts of others that hold the same order of thought and we create our lives according to our thought and the thoughts of others influence how we create our lives.
If we think success and positive thoughts will be able to get into tune with the minds of other people thinking success and positive thoughts, therefore allowing us to create our lives in a successful way. Just as easily, if we allow our minds to dwell constantly upon thoughts of failure and negativity we will bring ourselves into close touch with the minds of other "failure" people, and each will tend to pull the other down still more. You are the company you keep! Therefore we would create our lives in a negative and unsuccessful way. If a person thinks that everything is evil and negative, they will see and experience much evil and negativity, and will be brought into contact with others who will inevitably prove them right. The law of attraction knows no boundaries! And the person who looks for good in everything and everybody will be likely to attract to themselves the things and people corresponding to their thought process.
We generally see what we are looking for or what we believe in.
The mind has many levels, ranging from the highest positive level of thought to the lowest negative level of thought, with many levels of thought in between, varying in degree according to the difference in positive and negative thought extremes.
When your mind is operating along positive levels you feel strong, buoyant, bright, cheerful, happy, confident and courageous, and are enabled to do your work well, to carry out your intentions, and progress on your road to success. You send out strong positive thought, which affects others and causes them to co-operate with you or to follow your lead, according to their own mental level.
When you are playing on the extreme negative end of the mental level you feel depressed, weak, passive, dull, fearful, and cowardly. And you find yourself unable to make progress or to succeed. And your effect upon others is practically nil. You are led by, giving your power away, rather than leading others. You are very dis-empowered.
But remember you possess the power to raise the level of your mind to a positive level. You are not destined to attract negative experiences! You have the ability to change your thought process allowing you to empower yourself. It is simply a matter of learning new techniques that you were never taught. Do not allow yourself to be affected by the adverse and negative thoughts of those around you. Move your thoughts up to a high positive level away from the vibrations of those on the lower planes of thought.
You have the power to build up your mind and make it what you want. In fact, we are mind-building every second of our lives, either consciously or unconsciously. The majority of people are doing the work unconsciously, but those who understand the mechanics and workings of the law of attraction have taken the matter in hand and have become conscious creators of their own mentality, their own reality. They are no longer subject to the suggestions and influences of others but have become masters of themselves.
The Key to Self-Mastery is within! And the time to begin re-establishing order in your mental kingdom is NOW. I invite you to remember the power within, learn and master the lost secrets, raise your thoughts and create the life of your dreams!

Creative Energy Cycles

Have you ever found yourself without much energy to do your daily routines?
Do you feel lethargic and not "in the mood" to do much of anything? Instead you'd prefer it if you could relax with a good book or just watch a film and lay out on your couch?
Instead of fighting against those feelings, do into them fully.
The reason I say this is because as a conscious being you will inevitably go through different high and low energy cycles. There's no way that you can create new things all of the time without taking relaxation. Energy will need to recoup and recharge within you which is exactly what is happening when you feel lazy.
Think of an energy cycle like a wave. There are high points on the wave and there are low points. The lower points are when you feel lethargic but they are the most crucial times because you're recharging energy for the high energy cycle. And when you feel creative and energetic you're using that creative energy that you've already charged up previously.
These high and low energy cycles last for no particular time and is completely different to each human being. You cannot change them, they are a way of life and pushing against them will ultimately cause you more pain in the long run.
Although you may have lots of things you want to do when you're in a low energy cycle, simply go into the energy cycle and allow it to consume you. When you feel as lazy as you possibly can, you're more likely to come out of it quicker. If you start pushing against it and doing high energy activities when you really do not want to, it is in these times when the body may experience an unexpected illness. It is the only way that the energy cycle can get you to stop and recharge since you continually push against it, so it creates an illness within the body to force you to stop.
The cycles last for no particular amount of time. Some will last for hours, some for days and others for months or even years. Whatever the cycle you're in - don't push against it. Instead go with the flow of life and enjoy every moment of it.

Improving the Creative Energy of Your Home

You may be confident that you are a creative individual, but do you make the most of the space around you to support that? When I first started writing seriously for a living in the 1980's I had a desk under the stairs rather like Harry Potter's bedroom only a lot smaller and with no door on it. It made me focus, but there was literally no room to expand my thinking - or even my legs.
Back then I had no idea when Feng Shui was, but I wish I had because if you pay attention to some very simple principles you can make the space you create in really part of your whole process. It's been around for thousands of years and used extensively in the East to make homes more welcoming and the environment more harmonious.
When you write you are in a particular energy zone, and you need very specific things. First you need to feel safe to allow yourself into that different zone with no fear of interruptions so you need to be in a space that is not a corridor - which pretty much rules out the kitchen table unless you have leanings to being a journalist and want to learn how to work in a noisy, crowded environment. A room with several doors in it can also be distracting as you can have a subconscious fear that you could be interrupted at any time. If there is only one door in the room, try to sit at an angle to it so your back is not directly to it. Again it's a subconscious anxiety that you cannot see anyone sneaking up on you, and you want to feel confident and in control when you are writing.
Negative energy spaces are dark, cramped and looking out onto an unattractive view - the back of the garage or a neighbouring industrial building or block of flats. If your view is unattractive then either put an attractive blind there or put your back to it and put a beautiful poster or print on the wall you are directly looking at. Make the room comfortable and attractive with some living plants in there and perhaps a water feature that will prevent the energy in the room becoming stale.
Put objects in there that are beautiful and give you pleasure, and perhaps things that will give you ideas - an unusual piece of driftwood or a few pebbles or a postcard that brings back happy memories and make an ideas board. Use a simple cork notice board and pin on it pictures, fabric, headlines from newspapers, ads from magazines - things that your eye can rest on and feel intrigued by. Have a mirror in the room to reflect light from the window or hang crystals to catch the sun and reflect rainbows into the room.
Clutter is the enemy of creativity inasmuch as you need to be able to see what work you have in progress. A rigid or regimented workspace is not what I mean - some disorder is fine, but not to the point that you can't find a piece of research or enough room on the desk for your cup of coffee! The same with your furniture, don't crowd the space so you have to squeeze through the door and climb over a sofa to get to your computer.
Put a welcome mat outside the door of your workspace, it will encourage you to go in there more often and reassures you that your creative process is something to be celebrated.
I hope these ideas are helpful, and remember the one thing you truly need to do to improve your creative energy is to just to have the intention to create and then apply yourself to doing just that!

Your Creative Energy Flows Where Your Thinking and Expectation Goes

Our brains are amazing they work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, from before you are born, right up until we fall in love. The truth is our brains are far more powerful than any computer ever developed; our thoughts are in fact so powerful that they can either create or destroy. They can create the most amazing and beautiful things fill us with love and grace or if we choose they can destroy dreams, relationships or even lives.
We can change everything in our lives with one decision or a single thought. This thought can completely change the course of our future, either positively or negatively. This single thought can completely change our lives, by allowing us to unlock our unused potential, change our health, create great wealth, build relationships, forge deep love or connection and even inspire new levels of happiness and joy.
We all arrive on this amazing planet, naked, scared and vulnerable. The one thing that decides how our lives turn out, is the thoughts we choose to think. Society conditions us to believe that we are more likely to fail than to succeed. Our parents, teachers, coaches and care givers, reinforce this negative belief system in us, by telling us the word no 30 times more than the word yes, before we even turn 17. This coupled with our brains always searching our environment looking to keep us safe, sees us focus our energy on negative thoughts.
These automatic negative thoughts or ANTS, constantly flow through our heads and fill us with fear, hesitation and suspicion. As you know our thoughts create our expectations, which then highlight possibility in us. This potential or possibility is then converted into the driving force behind our creative capacity, which will finally manifest into our reality. So if we constantly focus our energy on negative thoughts, these will manifest into as our expectations, which will then become the driving force behind our creative energy. This will see us create a negative reality that keeps us trapped in a life that is unfulfilling and incomplete.
We are in control of our thoughts and by making better, more positive choices about the thoughts we think, we are creating a more positive environment in which we get to think more positive thoughts, which in turn will help us to have better and more positive expectations, which will drive our creative capacity. As our creative capacity will be focused on creating more positive outcomes we will create a far more satisfactory reality.
We can change the trajectory of our lives by simply changing the thoughts we think. The reality we get to create is a choice, we can either create a positive set of expectations, which will help us to drive our creative energy in a positive direction or we can choose to keep thinking negative thoughts that will continue to drive our creative energy toward scarcity and a life that is empty and unsatisfying. Your creative energy flows where your thinking and expectation goes. When you focus on gratitude and abundance, your predominant thoughts are on creating positive outcomes and that is what eventually manifest in your life.
Make the shift today and allow your mind to focus on abundance and all the things that are working in your life. As you focus your thoughts on abundance and positive outcomes, you are far more likely to see opportunities and ways of creating more positive expectations. These positive expectations will allow you to unlock your positive creative capacity that you can use to create the reality that you desire.

How to Exploit the Superlative Creative Energy of Sex for Superior Accomplishments in Life

Sex is Nature's primary channel for procreation, preservation and evolution. All living things procreate, multiply and perpetuate their kind through sexual intercourse in one form or another.
When properly indulged in, the sex act produces such exquisite feelings of ecstasy and joy unlike any other; making the desire for physical sexual contact quite intense and irresistible in most men and women.
As the singular act through which Man expresses his highest creative power of bringing offspring into the world, sexual intercourse is much more than mere physical conjugal union; it is a profound act of great responsibility, with deep spiritual and mystical connotations.
When couples understand and align with this fact, they have within their reach, the ability to deploy the superlative powers of sex beyond biological procreation of babies - to explore the higher currents of life, and experience the deeper joys and mysteries of human existence on planet earth.
Indeed, the primordial creative energy in sex transcends procreation. Unfortunately, many men and women being unaware unknowingly dissipate and thus fail to avail themselves of the innate superlative powers of their abundant sex drive; and this is one primary cause of mediocrity and lack of superior achievements in life.
An intense desire, whether for sex, money, politics or sports laurels, is creative potency seeking expression or outlet, and you have a choice of how and on what to invest it. The more intense the desire is, the more powerful the unseen forces propelling it into actualisation.
Your thoughts, desires and intents, and the associated feelings and emotions they generate in you are creative energies, differing only in their colouration and eventual route of expression or outlet, brought about by the transforming action and power of your Mind - and sexual desire is no exception.
In other words, that self-same creative potency projecting as tumultuous sex drive or sexual energy can, by a mere switch of intent and focus, become Intellectual, Money, Professional, Political, Business, Spiritual or Sports energy; or whatever type of energy you need at any point in time.
Sex, the carnal root of Man's generation, can be the source of his de-generation, yet holds the key to his re-generation. When properly harnessed, the primordial powers of sex and its creative essences that initiate all earthly existence can be used to achieve anything you want; for in the source of this vital Power lie also the sources of Wealth, Health and Genius. Sexual energy transmutation is the key.

Connecting to Higher Self - Your Superconductor of Creative Energy

If you are seeking answers to questions about your life right now, or if you are looking for solutions to problems that don't seem solvable, you may want to connect to the superconductor of creative energy--the higher self. Your higher self will lead you to the answers you are seeking.
Your higher self is a superconductor of creative energy (i.e. creative information, wisdom, and insight), but before this superconductor of creative energy works at high capacity in your life, you have to "awaken" it: You have to connect to it, activate it and then practice using it, until it fully kicks in and becomes automatic.
Basically, what you have to do is reconnect to higher self (there are specific ways to do this), learn to distinguish your higher self's guidance from your mental conditionings, and then follow through with this guidance, whether that means taking an action, or re-examining something you have always believed to be true.
In her recent weekly email, spiritual advisor, channel, and light-worker Toni Elizabeth Petrinovich wrote, "DNA is a superconductor of information (losing no energy in transmission.)
According to my understanding, DNA is simply the physical manifestation of the higher self, the soul--but you don't have to learn organic chemistry in order to understand it. You just have to take the steps to cultivate a deeper, truer relationship with your higher self and not worry about the science of DNA (with all its complications).
Anyway, it is true that the higher self is a superconductor of creative energy. I wouldn't have written a chapter titled "Superconductor" in my memoir of my reconnecting process had I not understood this was so. However, the way to help activate this superconductor of creative energy in your life is not by trying to lose zero energy in transmission. (Would someone please show me what it looks like to lose no energy in transmission?)
Rather, an important step to activating this superconductor of creative energy is to have no resistance to the free flow of energy in your life. If you come across some new energy (i.e. new information, insights, etc...) that seems to contradict what you believe to be true, you can simply acknowledge this new information. You don't resist it, and you don't have to accept it. You can just acknowledge it, and try it out like trying on a shoe to see if it fits. You do not have to make decisions based on it. Just be open to it, at first. This is what it means to have no resistance to the free flow of energy.
The truth is, when you connect to your higher self you will no doubt receive guidance and new insights that seem to contradict what you have been conditioned to believe. It is natural to question yourself in such situations; it's natural to resist new information. But when you take baby steps anyway, when you have faith in yourself and follow through with your inner guidance and then as a result experience valuable insights or favorable synchronicities or more cooperation from the Universe, you will over time gain more and more confidence in your higher self, until you get to a point when your higher self becomes a superconductor of creative energy in your life. (This is the point where there is no resistance to the free flow of information, no resistance to following through with your inner guidance promptly and consistently.)
Here is one interesting example: I was hiking one morning almost two years ago when my inner guidance told me to call an acquaintance to confirm an appointment. I had my cell phone, but knew I didn't have this person's phone number in my contact list. However, I remembered I had called him recently, and his area code was unique. Rather than putting it off till later, I looked through my call history right then and dialed the first (650) number I came across. (I had no resistance to my higher self's guidance; I followed through immediately.)
Some guy answered, saying, "This is KZSU, and you're the winner. Can you hold?"
I had called my friend's place of work (a radio station) by mistake, but so what! I won two tickets to the Monterey Jazz Festival!
This is what it means to be a superconductor of creative energy--no resistance to the free flow of "energy," which means no resistance to your inner guidance. (And I got confirmation from the Universe about that.)
Connecting to higher self is of course a process, but it is so worth it. It's how you will solve the problems that seem to have no solutions right now. It's how we will solve the world's biggest problems. And I promise you it will be like nothing else you experienced before.

Female Creative Energy - Freedom

How free are you?
Before you answer this, I'll give a little hint. The definition of autonomous is self-governing power. If we have spiritual autonomy, we are free to cultivate and govern our own spiritual power within us, which means we are incredible self-sustaining and ever-evolving, autonomous human forms.
It may take a while to re-member ourselves, to recall that we are strong enough to suffer and embrace, consciously or not, a spiritual healing and rebirth through our bodies during this part of our female life cycle.
Sometimes these spiritual healings manifest through interesting thoughts or ideas, a change of mind and outlook; these healings come as spiritual attunements and sometimes as a result of self-expression, formerly unexplored emotions that finally release; or, through physical adjustments and new demands, like stress, on our bodies.
One ignites the next and accelerates another. They all perpetuate one another. However they appear, they are often misunderstood, even by we who give birth to them; we who tend to judge these experiences as challenging or abnormal. We habitually suppress it or apply derogatory names, making the negative aspects more real than needs be.
Water, Fire, Balance
There are ways to channel this unused creative energy that would otherwise be potentially leaked during a sexual interaction, inappropriately projected onto a friend, or even overly dramatized and then internalized. There are ways to channel it all into positive, pleasurable experiences.
Here is a Taoist principle I learned on retreat in Sedona about whether or not we are ready and mature enough for a sexual relationship. I see its philosophy as an umbrella for our relationships with all people, our spirits and our souls. It goes something like this:
If you are already too full, you have no space for a sacred experience co-mingling sexual energies with another person. If you are too empty, you will have compulsive sexual desires, always looking to fill yourself up. It is only when you are half full that you can have a sacred and fulfilling sexual experience with another human being.
In Five Element Theory, we have three types of Chi available to the human body: 1) the life force with which we are born; 2) that which we accumulate from food and breathing the air around us; and 3) the energy we derive from our sacred spiritual practices: breathing, meditation and other methods of concentrated focus.
In other words, with conscious practice we can cultivate our creative sexual energies for other purposes and different creative projects. In fact, sexual and primary, original energies are considered the same in the context of Taoist principles. There is a sacred practice called the Microcosmic Orbit which channels the sexual energies into a balance of masculine and feminine inside both male and female bodies. This is the Universal principle of Yin and Yang balance.
It all begins with sperm and eggs. Even as the gender of a fetus is uncovered in the womb, we are still undifferentiated until well after birth. We come in with, and we never lose, this primordial balance of both masculine and feminine energies. We may use them in imbalanced ways, or use one more than the other depending upon circumstances and survival, yet the principle remains, however buried within. At its essence, this sexual energy can be transmuted into spiritual evolution and enlightenment.
Just because a woman is beyond reproductive age, doesn't mean she has no creative juice. In fact, because it is stored in such great quantity, this sexual energy may more compelled to travel upward from the ovaries into the head. The Microcosmic Orbit will take this natural motility and propel it more rapidly to its destination.
This may be the proof in the original statement about middle-aged women being more poised for enlightenment than anyone else. With intentional visualization and breath, the abundance of these natural forces of creativity are inspired to circulate freely throughout our bodies.
Are you with me with this next idea? I say there is enough energy to both heal and light the golden flame of every single spiritual intention on this planet right now, with all the fire we create individually and so many menopausal women doing it collectively.
Think about it.
Female Creative Energy Practice II
Experience Chi flow with the Microcosmic Orbit. This is my interpretation and slightly modified from what I learned.
Sit in a comfortable, meditative posture and visualize the channel which begins in the tongue and runs down the front of your body through the throat, chest and navel. It then travels up the tailbone through the spine into your head.
Next, feel or see the energy of water moving up the back channels and the energy of fire moving down the front channels away from the head into your digestive organs. Play with this and just notice your experience; you might even record it daily for a week, or more. If you do have a romantic relationship, try the "orbit" in this context as well, noticing what is created here!
Later try practicing the "orbit" with your tongue on the roof of your mouth behind the top teeth. Then, try it with the "Oval" exercise simultaneously. Each one of these exercises can potentially decrease stress levels and is capable of creating better health, more balance and natural rhythm in your life.

The Mysticism and Ecstasy of Creativity - Channeling Your Creative Energy and Inspiration

As we become more developed in our knowledge about channeling creative energy, we discover that creativity flows from two chakras in the body. One chakra from which creativity flows is the "Throat Chakra," but creativity also flows from the "Sacral Chakra"--the same chakra from which our sensuality flows. With this evidence, it is apparent that creativity is not only a mystical experience but also an experience that brings great ecstasy.
Now to say that the flow of creativity and inspiration is a mystical and ecstatic experience may seem salacious; it seems salacious because it is. Creativity is always sensual and salacious even as it edifies and enlightens us.
In fact, many of us right now are craving a way to channel our creativity in a positive and productive method which stirs this mysticism and ecstasy. We can feel the psychic touch of our creativity as it flows and stimulates us within our Soul. Each time we are stimulated, it appears that we learn something more about ourselves and the Universe we live in.
This stimulation is called inspiration. The flow of inspiration reminds us of our spirit. It reminds us that we are more than flesh and bone. Yes, you can say it is a "metaphysical" experience. It is metaphysical because it is "beyond" the physical. And it is when we choose to create in a realm beyond the physical that we discover our true and highest potential.
Furthermore, as we channel creative energy through us we feel a sense of joy and accomplishment. And our purpose here on Earth is to experience joy with purpose. Joy with purpose allows us to remain in a state of happiness rather than desperately pursuing happiness only for it to elude us.
Again, as Divine Beings, it is through the flow of inspiration that we remember our spirit or the essence of our true and authentic self. As we stir and stimulate our creativity, we reach beyond the physical and tap into the field of infinite possibilities. When we tap into this powerful field within ourselves, we experience ecstasy as creative energy flows. And at the end and the beginning of the day, all we want is to experience bliss, let our passion grow, and let inspiration flow.
Yes, when inspiration flows and the ecstasy of creative energy is ignited, it is mystical. It seems as if we have gone beyond the limitations of our physical environment and reached the cosmos. It feels this way because this is exactly what is happening.
Do you have to be an artist, thespian, great singer, writer, or sculptor to experience the ecstasy and mysticism of creative energy and inspiration? Not necessarily. You can experience the ecstasy and mysticism of creativity and inspiration simply by living an inspired life.
When we live an inspired life, we allow The Creative Spirit to move us. We take inspired action as it is present to us. We become available to ever-increasing good. We become a vessel through which inspiration flows. This means letting go of the ego and practicing our spiritual work such as meditation, prayer, yoga, visioning, journaling, and creative visualization. As we commit to such spiritual work, the flow begins, the ecstasy erupts and we experience the mysticism of inspiration and creativity.

Accessing Creative Energy

Having hosted a weekly radio show called 'All That I Am' that has focused for the last 6 months on the question, "what is creativity and why is it important?", the following guide helps you access that creative energy.

Who inspires you? A writer, a musician(s), poet, people that you know - mentors, friends, family, any elderly people who have inspired you.
Write down why each of them have inspired you, and what you have learned or what you are still learning or enjoying about them.
WHAT
How can you translate what's going on in your head into something tangible:
a written word, phrase or piece
a piece of dialogue you heard, or are thinking about
a poem
a sketch
a drawing
a painting
a jingle
a song
a dance
any kind of movement
WHEN
Some of us are morning people, some evening, some night etc. But the reality of our lives are that it is probably more real to ask when do have have any time where we can even think about being creative. So can you think about when that time might be. A train journey to work, a walk home from dropping the kids off, your lunch, the middle of the night when you wake up from a dream - can you scribble it down?
Find the tiny moments even if you stay longer in the toilet to write down something someone said that made you laugh, or a poem that you may even choose to flush down the toilet.
WHERE
Some people like quiet, some noise. If you don't know, try both, usually you'll know which one suits you better. Is it outside walking in nature, or is it sitting in a cafe people watching.
Or is it only on the train or car on the way to work when you can sing out loud and make up words, or shout or say a poem or a ditty.
HOW
Just find a way. Buy a tiny insignificant note book and write anything you think of as and when. Listen to a song and write down a lyric that particularly touches you.
Make a crazy doodle drawing. Maybe of the person sitting opposite you.
Find a way. There is no other thing to say.
WHY
Why must you access your creativity. Because the energy of creativity is fundamental to everything that we are. The more you use it the more it will turn up and find solutions, the more easily communication becomes and the more fulfilled you will be.
Accessing creative energy is only difficult because it open us up to a vulnerability that in every day life we find easy to avoid. However this energy is a life source with much to offer the person who is willing to give it a little time, stop any judgements, and play with a different side.

Female Creative Energy - Cultivation

Menopause has the potential to trigger our latent insanity on occasion, especially as the heat rises, our emotions escalate, and everything punches holes in the carefully designed tapestry we call our life plan! Although this expression is potentially freeing, sometimes we can feel truly incapacitated by the intensity of the energy propelling us out of control!
"Courage in women is often mistaken for insanity," is one of my favorite quotes from a movie about the suffragettes. When we are young, our courage is blanketed by innocence and vibrates with infallibility. This tone evolves into a very different quality as we accumulate years, after moving first through sensuality, arrogance, nurturance, humility, fear, and finally, true courage.
Ruthless self-examination for better or worse, helps us to develop acceptance and compassion for all that we are. Curiosity and correct interpretation of the answers tenures truth in our educational mission. More, we must actually ask provocative questions, evoking this truth from our innermost voice, our soul
Is there any part of your brain that functions differently (notice how it's not about bad or good) now as a result of age changes and menopause? Are you more likely to expose yourself, showing your vulnerability now more than you were before? What would you do if you never had another romantic relationship again in your life? Are you happy in your relationship or happily alone? Is your intuition heightened; are you more sensitive to energy?
Exploring these possibilities, or to answer even one of these questions could stir much in our old programmed templates for living. Complete with courage at this stage in our evolution, we have the inner elemental fuel to bring it all to light, transforming everything we are made of, re-wiring and creating new neural networks.
Personally, I've asked myself and my close friends these questions over and over again because I'm curious about what lies beneath these personas of ours. More important, I wonder what lies beneath that and I'd like to know how we can re-lay our foundation without totally destroying the house on top of it.
Now I know my personal foundation cracks and changes daily with each breath I take and with every thought I have. I am certain I am rewiring myself in my sleep, maybe even while awake. I'm certain I will complete my soul and advance this lifetime. Is this true for everyone though?
is it true for you?
How would a new romantic partner adjust to these thoughts, these crests and troughs? Is there enough compassion and surrender in the Universe for me to exist here, like this, along with the other 6 million menopausal women in the United States? These are my questions.
One day, in the last several years, I realized that I may be single the rest of my life and although fairly uneasy about it at first, I've grown, learned and become quite enthusiastic about this as a very distinct possibility. On the other hand, I am not adverse to finding and living with a mate. He would have to be an open-minded and spiritually special man to venture into this very rugged terrain.
Since that discovery, I have hovered around the bush of courage, sometimes hiding behind it and other times dancing around it. In this moment, I truly embrace being celibate as a possibility. In fact, I am certain that mature women worldwide can hold the creative space for all evolutionary processes, particularly those fearless women who use their creative energy for nothing but the process of human expansion.
Whatever its past was, or future consistency may be, our most auspicious and productive state of being is to courageously embrace who we are in present time, even if that means temporary insanity. And that's quite a feat, yet there are ways to manage, to cultivate and entrain this wildly creative energy in our bodies through visualization, conscious living and breathing, as well as spiritual intention.
Female Creative Energy Practice I
Transform sexual energy into creative Chi energy by breathing into and focusing on the Ovaries. Begin by breathing into your ovaries. Rapidly and lightly rub your palms together placing them over your lower abdominal and ovarian areas. Feel the warmth created with the breath and hands.
Next, visualize an oval shape that connects the two ovaries and the cervix, completely encircling the uterus as well. Feel the energy moving through and circulating around this "Oval" shape.
Ground the cervix into the Root Chakra at your tailbone and further, into the center of the Earth. Allowing anything foreign to release down this grounding connection. All the stagnant energies will be transmuted by Earth's fiery core.
Let the creative energy swirl around in the oval while you pump your perineum gently (squeeze the pelvic floor muscles like a Kegel). Feel the energy created in the "Oval" moving up through the spine into the center of your head.
Here it cycles around both clockwise and counterclockwise, eventually returning back down to the "Oval." You can also try pooling and circulating this energy into each chakra along the way as it journeys upward.
Do this both on the way up to collect energy and the way down to re-fill the spaces with a higher vibration. Now try the exercise again with your tongue touching the roof of your mouth behind your top teeth.

The Year of Creative Energy - 2013

Wow! It feels as if we have been shot out of a time cannon from the year 2000 into 2013. It is exciting, depressing, challenging, mysterious and adventurously curious all at once. So the big questions are What will this year bring? and Are we ready for it?
The Year of Creative Energy?
As I was researching the many interpretations of the numerological meaning of 2013, the idea of creativity kept popping up. So I figured, it needed to be summarized. A few short words, were required that could be easily remembered. As I venture into the unknown region of middle middle age, either my memory is getting worn out or I am developing ADD....so a few short words is both good and absolutely necessary.
Not only do the words have to have the shortness requirement, but they need to hit strongly. The magic wand was spun and out came The Year of Creative Energy. It has a nice feel and ring to it, don't you think! So what exactly does this mean?
As I pondered this question, I found myself in a paradoxical state. Normally I have more creative juice flowing through my veins than I know what to do with. The problem has always been to stay focused enough to finish the task once the idea was generated. My tendency too often has been to immediately ride the next creative wave that came crashing into my mind, rather than waiting for the subsequent one, so I could fully complete what I was doing. But over the last few months a strange change has been looming on the horizon.
I can feel it but can't identify it. A change that is edging closer but is still completely out of focus. As I observe this, it has put me into a holding pattern. I feel a transformation of mammoth proportions edging closer but as it does I am in a freeze frame of non-ideas. Now this is really strange. Where once the onslaught of new ideas were streaming in non-stop, it now is difficult to describe it as even a trickle. Have you been experiencing this?
I remember sitting with a group of friends years ago and one said " I have no passion." She felt she needed a passion to keep life interesting and exciting. I thought then, there will never be a time when I am wanting for something exciting to do, there are so many things that excite me that I may never get to them all before this life term expires.
Fast forward to the present and I am struggling with these questions: What really excites me? What do I want to do now with my life? What is it I want to create? And on top of it all, I am pressured by the arrival of 2013 The Year of Creative Energy! So, yes it is very much a paradox! Let me ask, at the risk of being overly redundant, am I alone in this or are you going through something similar?
And that being said, it is time to move along...to begin the thaw from frozen state to flowing water..to fully explore this new landscape..to begin this decade with a blueprint of trying to define what it is I was to create as I move forward. How about you? Where are you in this flow of creative energy? Frozen, thawing or flowing?
Creating is a Verb
Creating is a verb. Energy is a verb. Both will require some type of movement and action in order to manifest into a unique life form. So how do we get there? It involves a bit more than waking up one morning, opening up the bedroom window and shouting loudly out into the world, " Hey world, I am going to be the queen of creative energy today!!" How do I know? I tried it. It didn't work. After almost 10 minutes of trying to blaze a path through the clutter to the window so it could be opened, I was hit with a strong blast of cold air that took my breath away. The words that came streaming out were barely audible. I quickly slammed the window shut. Then I waited and wandered around the house all day. Waiting for what? Why-- that creative light beam to boomerang back from the universe -- to come in and poof! Like magic, ignite me with a fountain of creativity that would put me in a manic state of activity. Hmm, did I mention, it didn't work
Steps to Get Started
So if you have a front row seat at the same show I am currently attending- let's just get up and walk out. Let's start something new. Let's get a fire lit under us. Let's declare "Time for a Change". So what do we do? How do we start? Well with one action step at a time of course!
Here are some suggestions of ways to shake things up a bit, move away from the routine, stir up some creative energy, and hopefully in the process ignite a new passion, perspective, or direction that will propel each of us into new heights of life.
1: Develop a Different Routine
Pick one aspect of your daily ritual of routine and decide to intentionally do it differently. It doesn't have to be a big life altering part of your day just something simple. As a result of this change in routine, it may spark something inside, you may see something in a new way, or you may encounter an opportunity that would have never presented itself before. When we are out of our comfort zone/routine, we see a fresh new canvas before us.
2. Practice Daydreaming
This has always been one of my favorites, daydreaming. The possibilities are endless, like magic anything you want appears. I become it all-- lion tamer, lead actress in a blockbuster movie, head negotiator at the peace talks, Olympic skater, jackpot winner, thrill seeker, astronaut, crime scene investigator, criminal profiler, etc. I can daydream in techno-color with full details and dialog between characters. A lot of great ideas have come from tapping into this pool of resources.
3. Go Some Place with Lots of Eye Candy
Is there a place near by that is just filled with a lot of inspirational things to look at? I can remember last year when we were on a trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico I was nearly jumping out of my skin with excitement and really looking forward to getting home to create. The town was just bursting with creative development. Walking through the shops, the streets, the museums, the attractions was such an adrenaline rush of ideas. Find an environment close by to where you live that can do the same thing for you.
4. Problem Solve
Take a nagging problem that tends to occur regularly in your life. Examine it from all angles. Look at ways you can solve the problem in an interesting or unusual manner. I kept getting annoyed at all the stuff we have around the house, so my direction now is to create functional artwork. Using the stuff I no longer want but can't seem to get rid of, I am attempting to recycle and re-purpose it and then sell it online or at craft fairs. Most of what I am making is art work for the yard-- such as bird feeders, birdhouses, yard plaques, signs and decorations.
5. Sit with Mother Nature
When all else seems to fail, finding some time to go out and seek a personal audience with Mother Nature, often provides the right combination needed. A reconnection at this level provides a deep sense of inner balance and harmony which then always helps us to move the clouds away and feel the spirit that flows within and surrounds us completely. When we reunite at this level-- all things are possible.
There you have it, a few ideas to start with, to hopefully get those of us needing some direction a springboard to jump from. So, let's go off and make it one hell of a Creative 2013!

How to Channel More Creative Energy

Do you sometimes feel anxious for no apparent reason? Great!... You could be on your way to tapping into some extra creative energy. The eminent, existential psychologist Rollo May suggests that: "Anxiety is associated with creativity. Anxiety means the world is knocking at your door, and you need to create, you need to make something, you need to do something. It is a stimulus toward creativity." Easy to say until you start feeling anxious. So before we look at creativity let's reflect on some of the causes of anxiety? Anxiety can be a reaction to certain unwanted life conditions. A person, place or thing may upset us and the first reaction to something we don't want is to run away from it. Therefore anxiety generates energy within us.
But some of us use this energy to try to avoid anxious feelings and thoughts by numbing them with alcohol or drugs. Others sublimate their anxious energy by 'doing' things like making or spending money, seeking thrills and physical pleasures. The problem is that often these things do not lead to any real or permanent satisfaction. However creating or making something can give us a deeper sense of achievement, purpose and satisfaction. Those who have successfully built a cupboard or a piece of furniture, cooked a fabulous meal, painted or drawn a picture, created and tended a garden landscape or decorated a home will have experienced this.
We can think of anxiety as having 4 dimensions and 3 levels.
The 4 dimensions begin with the physical aspects of human being:
-Physical anxiety is triggered by threats to our physique and physical well being. For example a violent attack, the experience of dangerous environments, diseases, hunger and thirst.
-Emotional anxiety is closely connected to the physical in that we translate physical experiences into emotions such as fear, pain, pleasure, happiness and love.
-Intellectual anxiety is triggered by the thoughts we construct in our minds based on our stored information, knowledge, ideas and beliefs about life and the world in which we live.
-And finally Spiritual anxiety can be triggered by an infringement of our personal boundaries. These are set by what we value, the ethics and morals we hold dear and the personal meaning we give to life.
Of course these four dimensions are interconnected and inseparable in a healthy functioning human being. However when our four dimensions are integrated we have access to tremendous amounts of personal energy to apply creatively. The three levels can be thought of as:
-Conscious
-Subconscious and
-Unconscious
The first level is the anxiety that we are Conscious of and are consciously dealing with directly in the tasks, challenges and problems we face day to day. These are situations, people, places and things we recognise as the obvious causes of our anxious feelings.
The next level of anxiety is Subconscious and connected to real concerns and worries we have about certain situations in life; health, relationships and money for instance. However in order to get on with life we tend to put these worries to the back of our minds. But the energy and feeling of 'background' anxious thoughts is always present and can leave us feeling a tightness in the chest or with a queasy tummy.
Feelings of hunger, dehydration, hormone imbalance or even uncomfortable clothing are often first experienced and registered Unconsciously but they can surface as bad feelings that get attached to environments or people we interact with. It is an interesting fact to note that most daily anxiety we experience is unconscious and free floating that starts life as a physical symptom. For instance - we might suddenly experience the normal actions of a colleague or friend as annoying when in fact we are just feeling hungry or thirsty. We can then unconsciously translate these physical feelings into emotions and thoughts that we then express and turn into actions which create an event with a negative outcome.
So how can anxiety become a source of creative energy? There is much research to suggest that doing something creative is a good cure for anxiety and some very creative people draw on anxious feelings for inspiration and energy. For example - the celebrated poet and writer T.S. Eliot S (1888 - 1965) believed - "Anxiety is the hand maiden of creativity" and the philosopher Charles Frankl (1917 - 1979) thought that - "Anxiety is the essential condition of intellectual and artistic creation." I think we can trust that these people had something of value to say on the subject.
How do we reconcile anxiety with creativity? The first thing is to recognise that anxiety is fundamentally about the fear of the unknown and directly related to the fear of death. Creativity can be thought of as a response to the fear of death and destruction. A good example of creativity in action is the interplay between high and low entropic states in the universe which scientists are beginning to believe caused the most creative momet ever 'The Big Bang'. Or rather the 'big expansion' as it's fast becoming known.
The most fundamental act of creativity expressed by human beings is the act of procreation and it is well document that during war time and disaster birth rates increase. The psychologist Stephen Diamond Ph.D. offers that: "Anxiety stems from conflict and creativity is an attempt to constructively resolve that conflict." So the trick is learning to use feelings of anxiety to generate the energy to face life's challenges head on and respond rather than escape from them. Creativity can then begin to be about facing our fear and finding the courage to create. To do that we must be willing to take a risk.
I often start a day on creativity by inviting delegates to pair up and draw each other on small PostIt's. After two minutes of drawing I then ask them to show their partner the drawing they have made. At this point many people express anxiety at showing their drawing to the other person for fear of being judged as a terrible artist or offending the person with the likeness (or lack of) they have produced. This is the point at which we openly discuss the relationship between the energy of anxiety and it's impact on creativity. The key is to harness the energy of our anxiety and turn it outwards towards creative action rather than allowing that energy to turn inwards and inhibit us.
Art therapy is an interesting example of how anxiety can be sublimated, relieved and understood through creativity. We need energy to take action so by utilising forms of creative expression to generate energy like drama, writing, drawing, painting, dance and music therapists can work with the nonverbal symbols and metaphors that people produce within the creative process. In this context anxiety is translated into artwork and depression and anxiety can be more easily communicated and understood by the person who is experiencing them.
So next time you feel anxious, first celebrate that you now have the extra energy for some creativity. Secondly check where it's coming from and get strategic. Is the root cause physical, emotional, intellectual or spiritual? Once you've identified the source see if you can harness that energy and reframe your thinking to redirect the anxious energy towards creating something. If you're hungry or thirsty use that energy to create something interesting to eat or drink by combining some tasty or unusual ingredients.
If it's emotional, intellectual or spiritual produce a symbol or representation of your feelings, thoughts and beliefs. It could be a number, an equation or a poem, a sentence, a word or a doodle. Maybe just make a sound; hum or whistle a tune or write a short lyric. Anything that releases your emotional anxiety into the world as an object so you can look at it and maybe share it with others.
Once you get used to making the connection between anxious feelings and creativity you will gradually develop the habit and a new capacity to go directly towards creatively responding to life's challenges. Finally Carl Jung suggests: "If you have nothing at all to create, then perhaps you can just create yourself." After all the more we learn about the universe and our place in it through modern science, quantum physics and evolutionary biology and psychology the more the meaning of life seems to be less about finding yourself and more about creating yourself.
